Mora Youth Hunter Education Club

Our purpose is to prepare our members to enter the statewide YHEC competition, to promote safety and good sportsmanship for young hunters and to expose them to other shooting sports and outdoor activities. Any Mora youth 18 or less is eligible to join. A Hunter Education certificate or NRA training is required to shoot in club events. One of our club goals is to aid members in obtaining this training.

Youth Hunter Education Challenge

The Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) Competition is held at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton in early June annually. It is jointly sponsored by the NRA, 4H and New Mexico Game and Fish. Our club will provide training for the Members and Logistic Support for the event. Entry is a primary goal for the club. See more details and a 2010 report.
